German Gooey Butter Cake

1 box of yellow cake mix
1 stick of melted butter or
1 marg
1 egg
1 topping:
2 eggs
1 lb powdered sugar
8 oz softened cream cheese.
1 little powdered sugar

Bottom of cake: In a large bowl, mix 1 box of yellow cake mix, 1 stick of melted butter or margarine, and 1 egg. Spread this thick mixture into a greased or foil-lined 10"x14" pan. Topping: Use a mixer to beat together: 2 eggs, 1 pound (2.5 cups) powdered sugar, and 8 oz. softened cream cheese. Pour the topping over the bottom. Keep the topping 1/4" or more away from the edges of the pan so that the bottom will rise to form a border around the topping. Bake at 350F for 30 minutes. After baking, sprinkle with a little powdered sugar while still warm. I have a recipe for "gooey butter cake" that I got from a German family. You're right, it is very sweet, but oh so delicious!
